Haystack Notch Trail is a trail in Maine. Haystack Mountain, from surrounding areas, is the tallest peak seen by eye. A little icy but manageable in hiking boots. Speckled Mountain Haystack Notch Loop (click for interactive map on Caltopo.com) This route consisted of the following trails: Bickford Brook Trail to Speckled Mountain – 4.3 miles, 2300′ of elevation gain Bickford Slides Loop – 0.6 miles, 200′ of elevation gain Parking is shared with a baseball field so there were plenty of spaces. Our two frenchies came with us and it was the perfect level of difficulty for them.
